What is Truffle Salt?
Our premium Truffle Salt blend is a hand-blended mixture of pure Australian sea salt flakes with crushed Manjimup Black Winter Truffle from West Australia. Similar to French Black truffles, Manjimup truffles are the fruiting body of underground mushrooms. They are very rare, and take 5-7 years to mature after planting. They are particularly and uniquely aromatic, adding strong earthiness and fragrance to food. We crush them and blend them with our pure sea salt to create a salt that adds fine flavour and fragrance to your food.
What is Truffle Salt used for?
Truffle Salt can be used in a wide variety of dishes that benefit from its earthy and fragrant taste and aromas. It is best used as a finishing salt once cooking is completed for best results, as the aromas can be cooked away under high heat. The mushroomy element goes great with mushrooms (duh), as well as creamy dishes such as pastas, cheeses, eggs, risottos, and other veggies.
Is Truffle Salt worth it?
While Truffle production used to be incredibly difficult, modern times have seen it become easier and cheaper to produce (although it is still very time consuming and labour intensive today). Fortunately, successful black winter truffle farms exist in WA, which makes truffles accessible for us to use in our Truffle Salt Blends without adding cost. I am very impressed with this Truffle salt, its quiet generous with the truffle & you can taste the quality of the salt flakes, such a very good seasoning I add it to everything including on my tomato & cheese vitawheat biscuits 😋 it's super versatile at first it smells very potent when you open the jar, but when cooking the flavour is more subtle it's perfect 10/10 👌🏼
Another excellent product but too expensive for me. I won’t buy again.

The truffle salt just elevates everything you put it into. Even something as basic as mashed potatoes becomes amazing.
This stuff is epic it is so good by it self on steaks

We take this everywhere from home to camping to travelling to Perth to use on the trip down
